Carrier Services

P4voiceSM enables carriers and service providers to extend their service reach to the enterprise and offer a broad set of real-time capabilities including voice VPNs, and local and long distance termination. More importantly, carriers can also establish a robust foundation to address the complexities of delivering multiple real-time services to the enterprise. Enterprise users desire mobility with new and enhanced services, but also want PSTN-like performance, availability, and SLA assurances.

To meet customer expectations, carriers must seamlessly support a broad range of enterprise devices in a variety of customer environments. The proliferation of IP phones and PBXs within the enterprise has forced the carrier to support H.323 based solutions such as Cisco Call Manager. At the same time, SIP based networks are emerging as service providers are deploying infrastructure to prepare themselves for the flexible and collaborative applications being developed for SIP. This is evident by the growing number of hosted PBX applications that are being deployed to service small and medium sized enterprise locations and telecommuters working from home. Carriers must adapt to this environment using a multi-vendor and multi-service technology strategy that ensures maximum service reach to any endpoint, while also simplifying their core network and service delivery platforms for greater operational efficiencies.

P4voice’s Optimized Performance Intelligent (OPI) platform enables carriers to interface with a broader set of IP PBXs, and abstracts call signaling from other policies such as traffic management and call routing. This capability is a key service enabler that integrates traditional voice services via SIP based media gateways, hosted SIP based voice services, and H.323 connectivity for IP PBXs supporting both voice and desktop video. Carriers can use the authentication, authorization, and call admission control capabilities of the P4voice’s OPI platform to manage real-time traffic and monitor the utilization of network resources (e.g. bandwidth, feature servers, and media gateways). In addition, advanced features such as OPI routing which provides real-time QoS call routing, selective media routing which routes media only when session endpoints are in different enterprise locations. And NAT-traversal, which enables connectivity to users working from home or on-the-road, ensures optimum use of network resources.

Management and Monitoring

P4voiceSM is a fully managed service, proactively monitored and managed 24x7x365 from our Global Enterprise Management Center. The center actively probes your voice network to ensure that appliances and software are active and functioning properly to ensure your voice calls travel over the best-performing path based on latency, packet delivery and jitter measurements.

Enhanced Security

P4 goes to great lengths to ensure security of your voice communications. Encryption is standard between all of your locations, and P4 integrates an array of critical security capabilities such as firewalls, strong authentication and virus scanning and attack prevention.
