P4 Performance Management, Inc. announced today that Erkang Zheng has been promoted Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Zheng had been the company’s Chief Security Architect. In his new role Mr. Zheng assumes the responsibility for the evaluation, deployment, commercialization and management of technology for P4’s selective outsourcing business and clients. Operationally Mr. Zheng is in charge of P4’s Global Enterprise Management Centers (GEMC), the continuous development of our Titan management platform and the integration of advanced technologies into our service offerings.

Erkang joined P4 from Stonewall Networks, where he was a founding member and the Chief Security Architect responsible for the design and development of the company's security management platform as well as maintaining the internal IT security infrastructure. Prior to Stonewall, Erkang was a Principal Engineer at Cisco Systems and Cyberwerx, providing industry leading network management solutions. At Cyberwerx he was a thought leader and worked to continuously and strategically drive the company to success. At the same time, Erkang served on the Board of Directors for IMAR, a non-profit research company in Raleigh. Before that he was the Information Officer for Heltech, Inc in Los Angeles, California.
Erkang received his M. S. in Computer Science from North Carolina State University at the age of 21. He has done extensive research in network/information security and intrusion detection/prevention. During his research, Erkang accumulated years of invaluable real-world experience by monitoring and analyzing live traffic for the entire university campus. He has written and published a number of research papers and technical whitepapers. In addition to his research, Erkang holds over a dozen industry certifications from Cisco, CompTIA, and Microsoft.
