The P4secure™ Security Management Appliance provides the backbone to P4’s managed security solutions. This single security appliance incorporates the features of ten separate security software solutions. The appliance comes as a fully managed solution and includes installation and configuration.
» Appliance Features
Network security modules – Independently configurable modules for router, firewall and intrusion prevention and detection. These modules provide network layer and gateway protection for your network. Through configuration and management the appliance can block unwanted activity such as hacking attempts before they reach internal servers and desktops. Traffic can be filtered by source or destination IP address, protocol and/or port. The appliance is implemented as a transparent bridge and provides services such as DMZ, NAT, DHCP and DNS.
Email and web protection modules – Independently configurable modules that provide spam, spyware, phishing and virus blocking as well as powerful modules that block Denial of Service attacks and enable web filtering. These modules combined together protect your network and systems from the overhead and damage which can be caused by spam, spyware, viruses, phishing and DoS attacks. The appliance is designed to block these at your network gateway to negate the impact to your network, servers and desktops. The web filtering module enables you to implement and monitor web usage policies by blocking access to harmful sites known to contain malware, or manage access to particular content on the internet such as pornography, gambling or illegal music and video sharing sites.
Reporting – Not only does the P4secure™ appliance protect your network and systems from attack and allow you greater control over the traffic allowed over your network and internet connection, but it also allows you to view this information in comprehensive technical and summarized management reports. Each module implemented within the appliance records data on network behavior, traffic flow and security incidents which is correlated and analyzed for specific events and patterns of events that are of interest to our security solutions experts. Customers can then access these security analysis reports through our P4|Vu™ customer portal and dashboard.

P4 security solutions experts will install and configure the appliance on your network and then manage it remotely using our secure Titan™ monitoring and management platform. P4’s Security Management Appliance is backed by our Global Enterprise Management Center (GEMC™) and P4|Vu™, our secure customer portal and dashboard, which provides access to the advanced reporting delivered by our Security Management Appliance. Our detailed reporting provides a visual summary of traffic leveles, top talkers in terms of internet usage, as well as a breakdown of each users activity. Not only can you gain an understanding for traffic flow or internet ‘hot points’ throughout the day or week, but you can also view a big picture of the kind of internet related risks occuring throughout your corporate network.
P4’s Security Management Appliance is built on scalable Intel-based appliances to offer the highest performing architecture. The applications run independently of each other and are designed to process data at line speed with zero latency to your network, systems and applications. The solution can be delivered in high-availability pairs or in a fail open design to eliminate network disruption.
